In today’s digital age, mobile phones have become a common part of every household. While mobiles offer many benefits, their excessive use, especially by children, can lead to serious negative impacts. When children become addicted to mobile phones, it affects their physical health, education, behavior, and emotional development. That’s why parents and teachers need to keep children away from mobile phones and guide them in the right direction. Children have gentle minds and a natural sense of curiosity. When they spend hours on mobile screens, their eyes are strained, which can reduce eyesight over time. Constant screen time can also lead to headaches, sleep problems, irritation, and fatigue. Kids who watch mobile videos for long hours often withdraw from social interaction. Their minds get restricted to video games, YouTube, and social media, which blocks their mental growth.

Children get quick entertainment from mobile games and videos, which turns into a habit. They start demanding mobiles all the time. If they are denied, they may cry, shout, or become angry. This spoils their nature and makes them dependent on gadgets for happiness. Slowly, they lose interest in studies, outdoor games, and learning. Their grades start falling, and they may become lazy and distracted. This situation is dangerous for their future. Parents and teachers play the most important role in keeping kids away from mobile phones. First of all, parents should limit their mobile use. Children copy what they see. If all family members are constantly on their phones, children will naturally do the same. Instead, create a habit of reading books at home, spending quality time with kids, playing with them, and telling them stories.

Fix a specific time for children’s mobile use, if required. If mobiles are used for studying, ensure that they are used under supervision and only educational content is shown. Unnecessary apps, games, or videos must be restricted. Create ‘No Mobile Zones’ at home, like during meals, bedtime, or family gatherings. This helps children understand discipline and the value of real-life interactions. Schools should also educate students about the harmful effects of mobile addiction. Teachers should regularly discuss with students how to use a mobile phone wisely. Activities like library reading, sports, drawing, music, and dance should be encouraged in schools so that children stay engaged in creative and physical tasks and do not feel the need for mobile entertainment.

Sending kids outdoors to play is a very effective way to keep them away from screens. Physical games like running, cricket, football, badminton, and cycling keep their bodies and minds healthy. These games teach teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence. After playing, children feel physically tired, which helps them sleep better and reduces screen cravings. Replace mobile time with storybooks, coloring books, puzzles, board games, and educational toys.

Involve them in small household tasks like gardening, helping in cooking, or taking care of pets. These activities make them feel responsible and connected with real life.

Many cartoons and shows on TV and mobile display violence, bad language, and scary visuals that leave a deep impact on children’s minds. They begin to imitate such behavior. So, parents need to monitor what children are watching. Provide content with values, learning, and positivity. Use parental controls if necessary to block harmful content. Mobile addiction can slowly turn into a serious mental issue. Psychologists say that children who use mobile phones excessively can suffer from anxiety, depression, lack of confidence, and social isolation. If we do not act in time, this addiction can affect our entire life and personality.

The government and society must also take steps to spread awareness. Campaigns should be launched to inform families about the risks of mobile addiction in children and how to prevent it. Community programs like “No Mobile Day” or “Read and Play Drive” should be organized in schools and neighborhoods. These positive events create a healthy environment where children enjoy offline life and reduce their mobile dependency. It is important to understand that mobile phones are not a necessity for children – they are just an option. What children truly need is love, attention, play, learning, and guidance. If we spend time with them, understand their interests, and support their growth, they will naturally stay away from mobiles.

Today’s child is tomorrow’s future. If we shape them at the right time, they will lead a healthy and successful life. Reducing mobile use is the key to good health, academic performance, and strong values. We must create an atmosphere where children can play, learn, explore, and grow happily, without being glued to screens. Why Merging Government Primary Schools Is a Threat to Children's Education

 

The Basic Education Department has started merging government primary schools where there are fewer students. A new rule says that if a school has fewer than 25 children, it should be closed and those students should be sent to a nearby school. This work has been given to all the District Basic Education Officers in the state. The reason behind this step is to reduce the number of schools and manage them better. But this step is creating many serious problems, especially for small children, poor families, and villages.

The biggest issue in this plan is that it goes against the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The RTE Act was passed in 2009. It says that education is a basic right of every child between 6 to 14 years of age. It also says that there should be a school in every village, and no child should have to travel too far to go to school. This Act was not just about making numbers look good. It was a promise made by the government to give every child an equal chance to study and grow.

Instead of fulfilling this promise, the government is now saying that there are too many schools and not enough teachers. So, they want to merge schools to use teachers better. But this is not the real problem. The real problem is that the government has not appointed enough teachers. Many schools have only one or two teachers who are forced to handle all the classes. On top of that, teachers are regularly called for other government work like election duty, making ration cards, doing health surveys, vaccination work, and so on. These jobs take them away from teaching. If the teachers are always busy with other duties, how can they focus on children?

Now, instead of solving this issue, the government is choosing the easy way—by closing the schools. But this is not a solution. This is hiding the problem. Closing schools or merging them will directly hurt children. Right now, many children can reach their village school in just 500 meters or 1 kilometer. But after the merger, they may have to walk 3 to 4 kilometers. The roads are not always safe. There may be forests, rivers, highways, or even wild animals in some areas. This will make it very hard for small children to go to school, especially for girls. Their parents may stop sending them because of safety and distance.

We should remember that a school is not just a place to study. It is a place where children learn about their language, culture, society, and values. A village school is close to the people. Teachers know the families, and there is a strong bond between school and society. When a child learns in their village, in their language, with known people, they feel safe and confident. But when schools are closed or merged, this connection breaks. Education becomes distant and difficult. Children feel lost in a new place.

This policy will hit poor children the most. Rich families can send their children to private schools with transport facilities. But poor families depend on government schools. If the school moves far away, they have no option. Many children may drop out. Girls may be kept at home. Child labor may increase. This will push poor children further back and increase inequality.

Instead of closing schools, the government should focus on improving them. There should be one teacher for each class. There should be enough rooms, toilets, drinking water, playgrounds, and teaching material. Teachers should be trained properly and given permanent jobs. Most importantly, they should be freed from non-teaching work. Only then can they focus fully on their real job—teaching.

We must ask: if there are not enough teachers, why is the government not hiring more? Why are trained and eligible youth not being given jobs as teachers? Why are existing teachers being burdened with non-educational work? Why is the solution always to reduce schools, not to improve them?

The truth is that this decision to merge schools shows that the government has failed to provide proper teachers and facilities in the last 15 years. Now, instead of accepting its failure and correcting it, the government is trying to shift the blame. It wants to cover up its mistakes by reducing the number of schools.

But this is not just a policy issue. It is about the future of lakhs of children. Education is not a favor—it is a right. And the first step of that right is to have a school in the village. If we remove that school, we remove the child’s first step towards learning, confidence, and citizenship.

Merging schools may save some money. It may look good on paper. But it will damage the roots of our education system. It will separate children from their village, their culture, and their identity. It will make education harder to access. It will increase dropouts and reduce learning. It will harm our democracy, because a child who does not get an education today cannot become a responsible citizen tomorrow.

This is not progress. This is a step backward. And we cannot let this happen. We must all stand up—teachers, parents, students, and every citizen who cares about children. We must say clearly and loudly: if you cannot improve education, do not destroy what we already have. Do not take away the schools that are lifelines of our villages. Do not punish children for the failure of the system.

If there are not enough teachers, appoint more. If teachers are overworked, reduce their non-teaching duties. If schools are weak, strengthen them. But do not shut them down. That is not a solution. That is giving up on our children.

Let us remind ourselves that every child has a dream. That dream begins in a small village school. Let us protect those dreams. Let us protect our schools. Because when we protect schools, we protect the future of our country.

जातिवार गणना की आवश्यकता

जातिवार जनगणना एक संवेदनशील लेकिन आवश्यक पहल है। यह स्पष्ट करता है कि समाज के किन तबकों को किस स्तर पर योजनाओं का लाभ मिल रहा है और किन वर्गों को अभी भी उचित समर्थन की आवश्यकता है। पिछड़े वर्ग, अनुसूचित जाति और जनजाति जैसे समूहों की सही संख्या और सामाजिक-आर्थिक स्थिति को समझे बिना सरकार उनके लिए उपयुक्त नीतियां नहीं बना सकती।

इस बार की जातिवार गणना में जिन तकनीकों का इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है, वे इस प्रक्रिया को पारदर्शी, सुरक्षित और अधिक सटीक बनाएंगी।

1. जियो फेंसिंग (Geo-Fencing)

जियो फेंसिंग एक ऐसी तकनीक है जिसमें किसी विशेष क्षेत्र की भौगोलिक सीमा को डिजिटली तय कर लिया जाता है। जब जनगणना कर्मी टैबलेट के साथ उस क्षेत्र में जाते हैं, तो वह प्रणाली स्वतः ही उन्हें ट्रैक करती है कि वे वांछित स्थान पर हैं या नहीं।

इस तकनीक का लाभ यह है कि अब कोई भी जानकारी कहीं से भी भरना संभव नहीं होगा। कर्मियों को निर्धारित क्षेत्र में रहकर ही डेटा दर्ज करना होगा। इससे फर्जीवाड़ा, डुप्लिकेशन और आंकड़ों में त्रुटि की संभावना बहुत कम हो जाती है।

2. टैबलेट आधारित डेटा कलेक्शन

जनगणना कर्मियों को सरकार की ओर से विशेष टैबलेट उपलब्ध कराए गए हैं, जिनमें विशेष सॉफ्टवेयर और ऐप्स इंस्टॉल किए गए हैं। इन ऐप्स के माध्यम से प्रश्नावली को भरना और सीधे सर्वर पर डेटा भेजना संभव है। इससे समय की बचत भी होगी और कागजी कार्यों की आवश्यकता भी नहीं होगी।

टैबलेट में GPS, कैमरा और बायोमेट्रिक वेरिफिकेशन जैसी सुविधाएं भी हैं, जो कि सत्यापन की प्रक्रिया को और मजबूत बनाती हैं।

3. आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI)

एकत्रित आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण करने के लिए AI का सहारा लिया जाएगा। एआई की मदद से यह समझना संभव होगा कि किन क्षेत्रों में किस जाति की संख्या अधिक है, उनकी आयु, शिक्षा, रोजगार, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं तक पहुंच जैसी कई सूचनाएं एक साथ विश्लेषण की जा सकती हैं।

AI यह भी बता सकता है कि किन वर्गों को किन योजनाओं का लाभ मिला है और किन्हें नहीं मिला, जिससे भविष्य की योजनाएं ज्यादा कारगर बन सकेंगी।

प्रशिक्षण व जागरूकता

इस नई प्रक्रिया के तहत लगभग सभी जनगणना कर्मियों को विशेष प्रशिक्षण दिया गया है। उन्हें टैबलेट के इस्तेमाल, जियो फेंसिंग की समझ, डेटा एंट्री के सही तरीके और प्रश्न पूछने की शिष्टाचारपूर्ण विधियों पर प्रशिक्षित किया गया है।

साथ ही, लोगों को भी जागरूक किया जा रहा है कि वे सही जानकारी दें। इसके लिए ग्राम पंचायतों, स्कूलों, आंगनबाड़ी केंद्रों और नगर निकायों के माध्यम से जन-जागरूकता अभियान चलाया जा रहा है।

आंकड़ों का गोपनीयता और सुरक्षा

सरकार इस बात को लेकर पूरी तरह सतर्क है कि जातिवार आंकड़ों की गोपनीयता बनाए रखी जाए। डेटा सुरक्षा कानूनों का पूरी तरह पालन करते हुए, प्रत्येक नागरिक की जानकारी को केवल सरकारी विश्लेषण के लिए प्रयोग में लाया जाएगा, न कि किसी भी सार्वजनिक या राजनीतिक उद्देश्य से।

डेटा संग्रहण के बाद उसे एन्क्रिप्टेड रूप में सुरक्षित सर्वर में संग्रहित किया जाएगा, और विश्लेषण के लिए केवल अधिकृत अधिकारियों को ही इसकी पहुंच दी जाएगी।

सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास की दिशा में कदम

यह जातिवार गणना केवल जाति गिनने तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि इसका उद्देश्य समाज के सभी वर्गों के समावेशी विकास की योजना तैयार करना है। आंकड़ों के आधार पर शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, स्वरोजगार, महिला सशक्तिकरण, कृषि, ग्रामीण विकास और सामाजिक कल्याण की योजनाओं को प्रभावी बनाया जा सकेगा।

यह पहल अनुसूचित जाति, जनजाति, पिछड़े वर्ग और अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के लिए योजनाएं बनाने में सहायक सिद्ध होगी। इससे यह भी स्पष्ट हो पाएगा कि कौन-कौन से वर्ग अब भी मुख्यधारा से कटे हुए हैं और उन्हें कैसे जोड़ा जाए।

संभावनाएं और चुनौतियां

जहाँ एक ओर यह पहल समाज में समानता और पारदर्शिता की दिशा में बड़ा कदम है, वहीं इसके सामने कई चुनौतियां भी हैं। तकनीकी प्रशिक्षण, डेटा की सटीकता, सभी नागरिकों तक पहुंच बनाना, और तकनीकी गड़बड़ियों से बचाव — ये सभी इस योजना की सफलता के लिए जरूरी हैं।

साथ ही, राजनीतिक और सामाजिक रूप से इस प्रक्रिया को लेकर विभिन्न वर्गों की भावनाओं को भी संतुलित रखना एक बड़ी चुनौती है। सरकार ने इसके लिए कई स्तरों पर संवाद कायम किया है और यह सुनिश्चित करने की कोशिश की है कि किसी भी वर्ग के साथ पक्षपात न हो।
